Alex Van Halen Comes Out Of Seclusion To Commemorate Eddie Van Halen

Alex Van Halen‘s recent birthday post attracted the attention of many fans as it brought back memories of his late brother, Eddie Van Halen. The drummer shared a touching tribute to the late icon alongside a video on Instagram.

Since the musician’s passing in 2020, Alex has opted to live a more private life, rarely posting on social media. Reports from old friends, such as Michael Anthony, revealed that he was still in mourning, even years after his loss. So, his new post on Instagram came as a surprise, but fans quickly realized that the drummer was there to commemorate Eddie.

The former Van Halen drummer paid homage to his brother by sharing a black-and-white video showing him playing drums on stage, accompanied by the late artist’s guitar in the background. In the caption, the musician wrote how Eddie’s sound would always remain with him and noted that he missed the guitarist more than usual on that special day.

The emotional message read:

“Your sound is always with me. Missing you a bit extra today. Van Halen forever.”

As founding members of Van Halen, Alex and Eddie were the only constant members in the band’s lineup since its formation in 1972. The drummer’s entire career was spent playing alongside his brother, which was part of the reason behind his decision to retreat from the music scene and live in relative silence.
